Appraisal reports completed for a wide range of clients throughout the Province of Ontario.

Areas of Practice

FARMS

Reports have been prepared on a wide variety of farm properties ranging from vacant land to specialized livestock and poultry operations. Appraisals have been completed on small and large scale greenhouses; mushroom farms, fish farms and forestry.

AGRI BUSINESS

A wide array of valuations have been prepared on properties such as : grain elevators, feed mills, fertilizer plants,
abattoirs, meat processing plants and others.

INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS

Within this category, buildings ranging in size from 2,000 to 300,000 square feet have been valued, for lending and internal management purposes.

GRAVEL PITS & STONE QUARRIES

A niche market has been developed over the past twenty years in valuing pits and quarries throughout Western and Central Ontario. Assignments of both operating and potential gravel pits have been completed, varying in size from small family operations to large scale commercial properties. Spent rehabilitated pits are also valued.

VACANT LAND

Within this category, most types of vacant land have been appraised. This would include residential sites available for single family or higher density buildings and industrial sites of varying size.

FULL OR PARTIAL TAKINGS

Appraisal assignments for right-of-way situations including full or partial takings for roads, pipelines and hydro transmission lines have been undertaken, on a wide range of urban and rural properties. Consideration given to the value of the actual land taken, along with potential Injurious Affection, and temporary easements.

COURTS AND BOARDS

Appearance as an expert witness before various courts and boards has been undertaken as a result of appraisal assignments.

Appraisal Institute of Canada since 1962 - past member of Ontario Education Committee.

American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers - Professional Member 1974 to 1996, membership relinquished in 1996 - President, Ontario Chapter - 1984 and 1985.
Ontario Institute of Agrologists - have served on several committees dealing with regulating agrologists and continuing education.
Agricultural Institute of Canada Foundation - an executive 1995 to 2002 - served as treasurer 1997 to 2002.
Canadian Consulting Agrologists Association - on Executive 1989 to 1995 including two-year president's term - Distinguished Consulting Agrologist Award received July 1998.
Association of Ontario Land Economists - 1987 to 2007 -membership relinquished.
Ontario Expropriation Association.
