Raised in Aurora, Ontario, Dan graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1974. He obtained his AACI designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 1984 and his FRI designation from the Real Estate of Canada in 1986. He is an associated member of the Ontario Nursing Home Association as well as being a licensed real estate salesperson and a member of the Ontario Real Estate Association (O.R.E.A.).

Dan's professional experience includes assignments in special-use properties, office, industrial, commercial and agricultural valuation. He has been involved in feasibility studies as well as projects for government bodies and major utility companies. Dan specializes in long-term care/retirement facilities and land development projects and has been involved in rights-of-way projects and road widenings for expropriation purposes. Practical experience was also obtained in the construction field and disposing and acquiring of real estate.

Dan is actively involved in the Appraisal Institute of Canada, both provincially and nationally. He is a Past Chairman for the London Chapter of Ontario.
